Shanika Silva

Shanika was a senior and honor student at Friendswood high school. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Technological Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Business Professionals of America. She was awarded State honors in Science Fair in statistics and mathematics, and was a National Champion in Business Professionals of America. Shanika will be joining the World Bachelor in Business Program at the University of Southern California. She plans to study international business and is interested in microfinance and hybrid organizations.

Shanika was the president of the Youth Sri Lankan American Association of Houston (2012-13) and under her leadership, organized many volunteer activities and fundraisers including a community garage sale fundraiser for Revive to Survive. She started her own project The Big Picture with Revive to Survive, and as Project Director and conducts art projects to improve the mental wellbeing of Pediatric Patients.

Shanika has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, is an avid dancer and is interested in traveling and advocacy.
