Hasitha Premathilake

Revive to Survive Representative in Sri Lanka

Hasitha Premathilake (BSc Hons., MBA)

Mr.Hasitha Premathilake is a double degree holder from University of Colombo & SLIIT and holds a MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University - UK. Being a worthy product of Nalanda College Colombo, Mr.Premathilake has been engaged in social welfare activities ever since 2010, when he first volunteered in a Cancer Walk held in Colombo in aid of Cancer Care Hospice.

Soon after graduating from University of Colombo, he played an instrumental role in establishing the Special Task Unit of the Sri Lanka Saukyadana Movement (SLSM) and was the first Vice-president of this special unit, designed to provide technical and strategic support to the main movement. SLSM is a premier voluntary organization in Sri Lanka, established to provide medical and first-aid facilities for the needy. He is currently occupied as a Senior Operations Analyst at ShipXpress Inc., USA and has previously worked as an Analyst at Standard Chartered Bank & Stax Research Inc., USA.

Mr. Premathilake obtained the membership of the Cancer Care Association Sri Lanka (CCASL) in 2012 and earned the membership of the Working Committee of CCASL in 2013. He then moved on to become the Hon. Secretary of CCASL by 2014. As the current Secretary of the CCASL, he has played a valuable role in terms of planning, coordination and communication of all events conducted by CCASL from 2014 onwards, including fund raisers, cancer awareness building campaigns, annual events and religious events (for the spiritual development of the needy cancer patients).

He is also a member of the APHN (Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network) editorial team for Sri Lanka along with Dr. Samadhi Rajapaksa, hence plays a pivotal role in communicating Cancer Palliative Care developments in Sri Lanka, to the Asia Pacific region through contributions to the APHN monthly journal.
